Campus Reporting & Other Inquiries

Report Student Misconduct & Other Student-Related Concerns

Student Conduct & Community Standards
Student Conduct & Community Standards (SCCS) is the campus office empowered to review allegations of student misconduct, including academic misconduct and violations of the campus Title IX policy, as well as allegations of misconduct by a student organization, including hazing.

Title IX Policy: Generally, the Office of Title IX receives the initial report in order to share information about reporting options and supportive measures. If the initial report proceeds to a campus investigation, the Office of Title IX will refer the matter to SCCS.

Office of Title IX
The Office of Title IX (OTIX) receives reports of sexual harassment (including sexual assault, dating and domestic violence, and stalking), sexual exploitation, and retaliation. OTIX can provide information about campus and community resources, supportive measures, and campus and law enforcement reporting options.

OTIX refers complaints for campus investigation under the Student Code of Conduct to Title IX Investigators in Student Conduct & Community Standards.

Campus Climate Concern

The University of Tennessee is committed to fostering an environment where all members of the campus community can learn and thrive. The campus climate should affirm the dignity of all and encourage the exchange of ideas through discourse in every aspect of campus life. The Office of the Dean of Students addresses concerns that impact the campus climate through the university’s Campus Climate Impact Committee (CCIC). The CCIC provides outreach, support, and education to those who may have been affected by a campus climate concern.

974-HELP (Student Distress Line)

Students can refer themselves or a fellow Vol if they are experiencing symptoms of distress. Faculty and staff can refer students who may be exhibiting concerning behavior. Care coordinators will reach out to the impacted student within one business day.

Basic Needs Support

The Office of the Dean of Students provides one-on-one consultations with students as they navigate basic needs insecurity challenges. During these consultations, students work closely with a member of our team to access and utilize both campus and community resources. Our goal is to set up each student for long-term basic needs security by empowering them with the necessary support and tools to thrive.
